Artist’s Statement
I work mostly in the medium of painting, drawing, digital photography and mixed media. I am as attracted to a subject as to the process itself.
My main motivation is an aesthetic impulse, anything that strikes me as beautiful, be it a colour combination, a composition, a mood or simply the process itself. I follow mostly my instinct when considering subject and process with intervals of careful contemplation - a push and pull between spontanious play and formal decisions.
I work from life as well as from my own photographs and often use digital editing to play around with the image. But ultimately I follow the internal logic of the image and the outcome can often come as a surprise.
The work is an expression of an intense involvement with a subject and the process itself.
Education
1980- 1983 Graphic Design at the Fachhochschule Dortmund , Germany
1984-2000 worldwide travels inEurope, Asia , Australia, New Zealand and the USAas street performer and childrens‘ entertainer. During this time she continued to explore her work as a visual artist.
